Product Description

Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1044 will no longer be offered by Oberon after May 1, 2025, and will be replaced by Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1444. Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1444 offers a larger backbox and trim to accommodate larger Wi-Fi access points from virtually all AP vendors, protecting your investment for future upgrades.

The 1444 series recessed mounts feature the same torsion spring attached trim mechanism as used on the 1044 model, with an additional mounting location that accommodates thin metal ceilings and a larger backbox that allows APs to be mounted above the ceiling with the larger -FXL cover. The 1444 series is installed into the suspended ceiling the same way that the 1044 series is installed. Independent hanger wires are required in both instances per code. Once installed, the 1444 looks like the 1044, with an identical textured white powder coat finish.

For existing installations, Oberon will continue to offer Retrofit Trims 1040/1042/1043/1044 (PNs 37-104X-S2) to accommodate new generation Wi-Fi access points on request. Please contact Oberon for details.

The Oberon® In-Plane™ Recessed Mounts 1044 is an economical, aesthetic, and easy-to-install suspended ceiling mounting kit for APs and antennas from most vendors. A cutout is made in the ceiling tile, the tile bridge and back box is placed above the ceiling panel, and the access point or antenna is attached to the white trim. AP/antenna/trim assembly is then drawn into the back box with a torsion spring, much like a recessed lighting fixture, with only the front face exposed for optimal wireless coverage. The AP trim is easily swapped for new trim when AP brand or model changes.

Key Features and Benefits
  • Install and conceals APs and antennas from most vendors’ in suspended ceilings
  • AP mounts flush to the ceiling, providing an aesthetic, professionally installed appearance
  • 20 ga. galvanized steel tile bridge and adjustable hanger wire prevent ceiling panel sag or cracking
  • Easy to install, no lose hardware
