The HCAI Preapproval of Manufacturer’s Certification (OPM) is a voluntary program for review and preapproval of seismic design of supports and attachments for nonstructural components to be used in health facilities construction in California.
The OPM program is one of several preapproval programs administered by the HCAI Facilities Division, Structural Support Unit (SSU) and Inspection Services Unit (ISU). HCAI was formerly the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD).
This OPM should be referenced in Construction Documents for CBC 2019 and 2022 based projects and may also be used for guidance in ICC IBC based projects for other facilities inside and outside of California.
