Product Description

Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1043 will no longer be offered by Oberon after May 1, 2025, and will be replaced by Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1443. Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1443 offers a larger trim to accommodate larger Wi-Fi access points from virtually all AP vendors, protecting your investment for future upgrades.

The 1443 series recessed mounts feature the same torsion spring attached trim mechanism as used on the 1043 model with the largest backbox available for ceiling systems supported on 16-inch centers. The larger backbox allows larger APs to be mounted above the ceiling with the larger -FXL cover. The 1443 series is installed into the hard ceiling the same way that the 1042 series is installed. Once installed, the 1443 looks like the 1043, with an identical textured white powder coat finish.

For existing installations, Oberon will continue to offer Retrofit Trims 1040/1042/1043/1044 (PNs 37-104X-S2) to accommodate new generation Wi-Fi access points on request. Please contact Oberon for details.

Oberon® In-Plane™ Recessed Mounts 1043 offers the simplest way to mount access points and antennas from most leading vendors into new construction (drywall/sheetrock) ceilings up to 1.5 in. thick, for an aesthetic, professional installation. The back-box is fastened to the ceiling joists, and the new ceiling is cut around the box. When construction is complete, the access point fastens to the appropriate trim, and the trim attaches to the back-box with torsion springs. The AP is recessed into the ceiling much like a recessed light fixture with only the front face exposed for optimal wireless coverage. The AP/antenna trim is easily swapped when AP/antenna brand or model changes.

Key Features and Benefits
  • Install and conceal APs and antennas from most vendors into new construction hard ceiling environments
  • AP and antennas mount flush to the ceiling, providing an aesthetic, professionally installed appearance
  • Easy to install, no lose hardware
