Product Description

Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1040 will no longer be offered by Oberon after May 1, 2025, and will be replaced by Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1440. Oberon In-Plane Recessed Mounts 1440 offers a larger trim to accommodate larger Wi-Fi access points from virtually all AP vendors, protecting your investment for future upgrades.

The 1440 series recessed mounts feature the same torsion spring attached trim mechanism as used on the 1040 model, with an additional mounting location that accommodates thin metal ceilings. The 1440 series is installed into the suspended ceiling the same way that the 1040 series is installed. Independent hanger wires are required in both instances per code. Once installed, the 1440 looks like the 1040, with an identical textured white powder coat finish.

For existing installations, Oberon will continue to offer Retrofit Trims 1040/1042/1043/1044 (PNs 37-104X-S2) to accommodate new generation Wi-Fi access points on request. Please contact Oberon for details.

Oberon® In-Plane™ Recessed Mounts 1040 are an economical cloud/canopy/suspended ceiling mounting kit for most vendors’ access points and antennas. A cutout is made in the ceiling panel, the panel bridge is placed above the ceiling panel, and the access point is attached to the white trim. The access point and trim assembly is then drawn into the panel bridge with a torsion spring, much like a recessed lighting fixture, with only the front face exposed for optimal wireless coverage. When the AP brand or model changes, the AP trim is easily swapped for new trim.

Key Features and Benefits
  • Install and conceals APs and antennas from most vendors’ in cloud or canopy ceiling panels
  • AP mounts flush to the ceiling, providing an aesthetic, professionally installed appearance
  • 20 ga. galvanized steel panel bridge and adjustable hanger wire prevent ceiling panel sag or cracking
  • Easy to install, no lose hardware
