Wi-Tile TM Locking Suspended Ceiling Tile Provides Security Without Compromising Connectivity
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, UK, Jan. 4, 2020 – Chatsworth Products (CPI) is pleased to announce that Oberon, a division of CPI, has been awarded Physical Security Innovation of the Year with its Wi-Tile
TM enclosure solution from UK-based Data Centre Solutions (DCS) Awards.
Understanding the need to integrate security and effective design into its portfolio, Oberon designed the Wi-Tile collection, a set of Wi-Fi and small cell access point (AP) ceiling enclosures that provide security without compromising connectivity.
Wi-Tile was designed to replace a standard suspended ceiling tile, and features a full back-box that permits access to the AP without opening the plenum space. This simplifies infection control procedures in hospitals, making Wi-Tile ideal for health care, financial, retail and government facilities where security is paramount. The Wi-Tile surface finish matches most ceilings.
“Oberon has been focusing on Wi-Fi and small cell AP infrastructure for over two decades, and this know-how has helped us to fully understand how effective design, form and function is vital to enable uninterrupted connectivity and achieve optimum mobile network performance. We are proud to be recognized with this award,” says Scott Thompson, Oberon’s President and CEO.
The DCS Awards are designed to reward the product designers, manufacturers, suppliers, and providers operating in the data centre arena. The winners were announced on December 10.
For the ‘Data Centre ICT Security Product of the Year’ Award, finalists were asked to demonstrate the tangible impact their product has on the market, its value to customers, as well as how it differentiates itself from other products currently available.
