WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., March 2003—Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a 100% employee-owned leading manufacturer of structural support systems for technology equipment, announces a seismic-rated addition to the industry-acclaimed MegaFrame® family of cabinet solutions. The compliant cabinet offers companies in areas of high seismic activity peace of mind and incorporates the unsurpassed cable management featured in the company's #1 selling MegaFrame cabinet line.
Zone 4 Compliant to Bellcore's GR-63-CORE, section 4.4.1.1, for Network Equipment Building Systems (NEBS), the Seismic Frame™ Cabinet System has been tested to withstand the stress of an 8.3 Richter scale earthquake.
The 19" W x 36"D x 84" H cabinet is built on a high-grade aluminum frame and features built-in cable management so as not to compromise valuable space for rack-mount units. The Cabinet also has adjustable front-to-rear vertical mounting rails that allow configuration as either a standard 4-post cabinet or 2-channel rack.
Offered in a standard EIA width of 19", the Seismic Frame Cabinet satisfies a variety of rack-mount requirements via the Multi-Mount™ rail design. Multi-Mount rails allow the flexibility to mount different servers and other equipment within the same cabinet.
The Seismic Frame Cabinet System has been designed with an interior reinforced steel frame to provide added structural rigidity and is capable of holding up to 800 lbs. of distributed internal weight. A variety of doors are available to facilitate the proper ambient airflow through the Cabinet.
The new Seismic Frame Cabinet System provides IT professionals in Zone 4-rated seismic areas with yet another innovation from CPI. With this latest offering, earthquake protection and a system solution to data and cable storage, security and management have been incorporated into a unique cabinet design.
