WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., May 2010—Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a global manufacturer providing voice, data and security products and service solutions that optimize, store and secure technology equipment now offers an N-Series TeraFrame® Network Cabinet engineered exclusively for the Cisco® Nexus 7018 Switch.
The new N-Series TeraFrame Network Cabinet for the Cisco Nexus 7018 Switch is designed and tested to deploy the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series 18-slot switch in a hot aisle/cold aisle layout, while also supporting a mix of patch panels and fiber enclosures above the switch. To meet Cisco’s Nexus 7018 Switch installation requirements, the N-Series TeraFrame provides a wide-framed cabinet solution that supplies vital high-density thermal management, cable management and robust physical support.
Constructed with an integrated Network Switch Exhaust Duct that captures and guides hot exhaust from the side of the switch out the rear of the cabinet, CPI’s N-Series TeraFrame converts side-to-side airflow into a front-to-rear airflow pattern.
This modified air path serves as an ideal solution for hot aisle/cold aisle configurations, allows unobstructed airflow and reduces hot air re-circulation within the cabinet, which is critical for maximum switch performance. To further enhance the flow of air and permit easy access to equipment and cabling, the cabinet includes offset removable doors and side panels that provide extra interior space around equipment.
In addition, the front and rear double doors are perforated, promoting maximum front-to-rear airflow and use less aisle space than a single door.
Although designed to manage airflow, CPI’s N-Series TeraFrame also features advanced cable management and equipment support solutions. To divide and organize cables by line card, the cabinet includes snap-on plastic T-shaped cable management fingers with openings that align with each rack-mount unit, while full length brush-sealed openings on the top panel allow large quantities of cables to safely enter and exit the cable management space. Equipped with two pair of 19 inch EIA equipment mounting rails and 42U or 45U of vertical mounting space, the cabinet provides heavy-duty front and rear support for equipment.
To match site requirements and simplify installation, the N-Series TeraFrame is available in two heights and three depths, and ships fully assembled and ready to install.
